Passionate Worship
at Fairborn St. Luke looks like a bringing together of the truth
of the Bible and the artistic expression of our present culture.
Passionate Worship looks like many different facets of the arts. What
might once have been identified solely with music is now being realized
as much more. Painting, dance, drama and movement are as much a part
of worship as music.
Passionate Worship takes place in an environment that is relaxed.
It is not about following suit, but rather, about freedom of expression.
Freedom to express worship on our own and freedom to be led in corporate
expressions of other kinds.
Further, Passionate Worship is not restricted to one particular dynamic.
Rather, the worship at Fairborn St. Luke will incorporate times
of joyous celebration as well as times of brokenness and repentance.
Times of quiet intimacy with times of militant fervor. We are people
with many different moods - so why can't our worship be the same?
All of this comes down to worship that unites the Word and the Spirit.
(John 4:23-24)
Fairborn St. Luke UMC views worship through the arts as a powerful
means by which God's truth can be realized and proclaimed to people
who are near to him as well as to those who are far from him.
Our heritage from Methodism's founder,
John Wesley, gives us a four-part emphasis in worship: Scripture,
Tradition, Reason, and Experience. The people of Fairborn St. Luke
UMC worship God through music, drama, prayer and message grounded
in Scripture. Worship opens persons to experience the gracious presence
and healing power of God.
We offer two Sunday morning worship opportunities: 8:30 and 11:00
am. Our services are designed to create an emotional response and
challenge you intellectually. Come join us and experience passionate
worship.
