Annual Fairborn St. Luke UMC Family Camping Retreat

On Friday evening, June 25th, Fairborn St. Luke families joined together in the fun and fellowship of the Annual Family Camping Retreat at the Dayton Tall Timbers Resort KOA (Brookville).  The retreat ended at noon on Sunday, June 27th.  Campers found this KOA modern and exceptionally clean, as well as beautifully landscaped.  It offered a variety of activities, which included:

• Fishing in spring-fed lakes for bass, bluegill, perch, crappie, and catfish (no license required)
• Swimming in the 83 foot heated pool
• Regulation mini-size golf course
• Paddle boat and banana bike rental
• Playground with large sand area and game room
• Basketball, horseshoes, hayrides, bingo, and movies

As evening fell, families gathered at a Kamp site for laughter around the Kamp fire.  Those who preferred not to stay overnight had signed on as visitors to any one of the registered Kampers (for $5.00).  They were able to enjoy the resort and all activities from noon to 9 PM.  You can check out the Dayton Tall Timbers Resort KOA at their web site.

Summer Church Camp

Its not too early to think about United Methodist Summer Camps! There are many "themed" camps taking place at Wesley (Bellefontaine, OH), Otterbein (Logan, OH), and Widewater (Liberty Center, OH).  There are camps with all kinds of water activity, or if mystery is your interest you'll like the spy camp.  And how about the adventure camp, which will test your skill at high ropes, rock climbing, and rappelling?  Did you know that there are even camps for the Grandparent/Grandchild and Family Camps?  WOW!
